Sry for the lack of update.. I felt really sick .. high temp and chest infection..

the fever isn't going away so it's quite scary.. i feel cold & hot, cold & hot..

i haven't got the mood to do much, and don't really have the appetite as well..

tml we're goin to bath, another part of uk.. im not sure if i can really take it..

monday is the first day of school so i really hope i'll be well by then..

my chest is always growling.. telling me to eat smth..

jo-an, jia-ying & andrea has been really gd to me.. cooking my share of food..

Just an update bout my feelings over here so far, if you don't like words. Shoo! :p

It's the 10th day here in Bristol and I feel much better already.
I was skyping with Mom on maybe the 4th day I think and I just broke down like a crybaby, telling her how much I want to go home. I told her how sick I was, running nose, sore throat, with the backache which never heals. There was no doctor to see, we didn't cook filling dinners and there wasn't enough water to drink.

Everything is so expensive and even crying scares me, because I was afraid I wouldn't have enough tissue or toilet papers to wipe or blow.

Yes I'm being very childish to be complaining since most people will want to be in my place. it's such a rare opportunity. But at that moment, I just want to be spoilt, to be protected, to still be Daddy or Mommy's girl.

Don't like to worry about spending too much on food, worry about whether I'm eating enough, about how I will get well, about how my back will get well without Mom rubbing for me every night anymore.

I just want to type all this down, to remember how the first time feels. I forgot where I read, whose blog was it but the first time is very important..

This is the first time I'm living without my parents doing things for me.
My first time to feel so empty and hopeless.
My first time to understand how good my home is, how good it is to have my family and everything that I have in Singapore.

maybe just a quick update.. show u all some photos taken these few days =)

we are actually in west of england, bristol. it's a small town but not say very small. i have no idea why the bristol bridge is so near us but the river has really lovely swans all the time!

i have some close up photos, but it's not very very near them since i'm UP and they're swimming down there..

they ate ice cream today.. i didn't eat since i still have my sore throat, but anyway it costs £1.20 or £1.50 and above for a cone.. which is like $4 and above? just a normal cornetto or plain cone..

a sunset photo for water. lol i know it sucks cos of the buildings blocking, but what to do.. i dont really like to spend the evening and night outside of my hostel without an adult or smth.. the bad people here looks really bad.. =(

this is our fullest or rather most filling dinner we ever had.. its lots n lots of ham, with veggies, very soft potatoes & carrots.. lovely omelette =)

I'm staying in hostel today so I have time to blog! Let's see, today I'll show u all our way to the cathedral now first..

We walk past this road everytime we go to Asda aka Carrefour in Sg..

This house belongs to this poet who was borned and also passed away in there. His bodies and his family members' bodies are all buried in and around the cathedral that I will show u later.

It's quite a random shot but this is an ambulance. It was ringing/alarming actually when I took this photo. Actually we see it quite often on the street, maybe every 15 minutes or so there could be one passing by.

its quite huge la. with alot of pretty lights & candles..

every side of the walls have these glasses but with different drawings. quite very amazing because they are all delicated to different people.

so this is actually stones carved, stating "Here lies ________" and it's all over the whole floor of the church.

anyway ASDA is big without almost everything we need.. good right? hehe.. but it's 30 mins walk back to hostel..with heavy bags n stuff so i guess 20-25 mins walk to carrefour is quite ok..

plane flew off at 1am & we reached london after 13 hours..

we didn't take a very proper photo of the supper but this is for breakfast.. looks yummy? i think its quite good.. but there's lots of croissants here in uk.. we've been eating it for breakfast 2 days now..

nah its not our plane, i took this photo on the coach while on the way to collect my hostel keys.

sry i din rotate the photo, its my bed n half unpacked luggage.. its nice enough to me.. but the first night i had to slp in my slping bag cos we haven't got this bedsheet, blanket & pillow..

the other side of my room.. oh ya i cant go msn or skype. dunno why so i can only go read blogs, check emails.. do other surf web things.. haha..

this is quite random but its our dinner last night, got beansprout too actually but its not too visible.. not bad le lo..

look at that.. its plain noodles.. we swallowed that before eating our boiled egg.. this was on the first night when we have nth much at all..

we're trying all sorts of way to cook healthily, spend very little but eat till full..
to be honest, it's quite horrible to be worried bout every little small thing.
food, money. health. n yar i woke up with sorethroat & headache today already..

everything is so ex here, it costs 3 times more for everything..
i miss daiso n even ntuc so much.

so much more to do, the sch orientation starts in a few days time, our course orientation is after that..

pls let me put my life back on track n get ready for school..
everything is so suddenly changed that i do get frustrated bout very small things..
we don't eat on time & i'm always half air + half food = full..

n btw, it takes half an hr to boil water from my rice cooker.. =S
this sucks this sucks this sucks!

my head is feeling weird now, just watched Click, borrowed the dvd from esther..sob sob.. i cried so badly i feel nutty now. but it was a good cry, made me feel strange cos it teaches a big lesson and because i only have a few days left before i leave, it makes me think bout how im planning out my life.. what is impt and what's not so..

whee so er these few days passed so fast..

was at jurong east, learning art from kowling, and playing with her daughter, ashley.. this 8 yr old girl is amazing.. say for eg,

Jiaying wants cheese and ashley went to get it for her..
jiaying says: "like servant"
ashley reply "im not servant, is u lazy to walk"

anyway she likes yw alot.. keep holding his hand n stuff.. want him to hold her up to take the photo.. hmm.. i think im abit jealous, but oh well.. =x

so after the long van butt pain ride back, i got home.. mom dyed my hair.
the next morning i was breakfasting at mcdonald's with th kor.. den there was cantley's chalet! i can only rmb alot of poker card games, painful hands LOL, lots of eating & drinking.. a scary movie with chilong scaring all of us.. n we all fell aslp in the cold cold aircon.. but i had to wake up at 7 to get my xray done..

yay! that my chest is fine.. but boo! that i spent 3 hours waiting n waiting.. got home & dinner was at DTE agn.. ok that's not the point.. but i missed the tiramisu cake that we made at esther's place!!!

ROARRRRRR!! im missing everybody now..

Suddenly have the urge to blog, after reading yy's blog. =) it feels so nice, so really weird that someone is blogging down wad we were doing together.

it's been such a long time... in sec sch, in poly, when we'll look out for each others' blogs for pictures, things that happened. is it just me or what but i don't do that anymore.

all the process, all the very funny or interesting things, i feel controlled, worried that whatever i type here will be exposed somewhere & i'll get into some trouble.

i've drifted away from alot of friends whom i once treasured so much.. because of misunderstandings, distance and time.

it's too late to say anything now, but whatever i have now, i'm going to hold them close to me. am not going to let things change when i come back a year later.

right now, i believe my feeling of emptiness, the feeling of being afraid to lose everything will stay for a year.. but i need to badly tell and remind myself that as long as i work hard, one year will be very fast..

i dun have alot of hopes & friends! because alot of them have drifted away, n i only have this limited of heart just enough for my small circle of friends =)

its a little bit early, but i want to post this down so that if i have anything to add, i can, and i'll make sure i meet up with people that i'm mentioning below!

agenda & hopes in summer 09:

- meet up with mummy (mazlinah) whom i met in town by chance that day!
- lovely dinner with christine & jamie!
- hug yewei very tightly & stare at his funny hairstyle.
- see if water has grown any white hairs

- spend some time in hongkong to appreciate all the help my relatives have given me.

o8o8o8 has been an eventful day of mine! though i din step out of punggol..

mom woke me up to tell me our door was painted by loanshark.. as in sprayed.
turned out that it was this unit 4 storeys above us who made us kena this mess.

anyway i called the police & we cleaned this whole mess already.. so all we can say is.. we were suay..

cooking session again with yw & yy! this time is normal but good old plain fried rice.
SO FAST LO to cook this.. compared to a western meal, this is nth!!!!

anyway i think i'm going to try to learn how to boil soup soon. >.<

yummy snacks after dinner? haha fried potato mini patties thingy which we bought at tamp giant ytd! with ice chocolate =DDDD

im starting to like cooking, without the washing ^^

so this is me stirring the spaghetti/ noodle in the pot. i didn't know it's so hard to tell whether it's cooked or not.

nvm, cos now i know, and its yy teach me one =D

that's yw cooking the sauce for the noodles. oooh it's yummy i tell u.
we added ham together with it to cook together! nice!

so this is the final product.. the carbonara..

and tada! the lovely dinner for the 3 of us =)

mm just in case u were wondering, yw washed all the dishes ! ! !

Diary of my Contact lens journey

Day 1
- Spent 2+ hr plus with yw at optical shop, learnt to put on & remove.

Day 2
- Practise at home.
1st try, 15 mins to put on. 15 mins to take out.
2nd try, 10 mins to put on. 10 mins to take out.

Day 3
- Out. Didn't wear.

Day 4
- Put on for 5 mins. Worn for 3 hours. Left eye was irritated.
- 5 mins to take out.

Right eye - Torn contact lens.
Left eye - Inflammation.

- The End-

I don't want to wear contacts anymore. I brought myself so much trouble, for this chance to wear. I made my mom agreed to letting me do it; she was afraid I would get eye infection again.

And there, today I was, at the doctor.. and he was telling me that opticians and eyes doctors don't wear contact lens for all these reasons.

I didn't listen to mom, and I put in effort to struggle with contact lens.
I cried badly today, not because I couldn't wear contacts anymore, or that I wasted the money or the eye is making me super irritated.

I cried because I made this mistake, after trying and I feel hopeless.

I've lost to myself, that I really could not handle this and had to see the doctor afterall.

These 4 days of my contact lens journey made me changed a little.
I have the courage to poke my eye! -.-
But still, I guess it's really the end. Good bye lenses.

it's my first time eating there to be honest, & this is the kid's burger meal.

life is dull. i've stayed home for the last 2 days! watching shows & doing some work.

im meeting charmaine dear tommorrow (for lunch in case my back breaks). yay!
haven't seen her for years.
been trying hard to catch up with old friends, explaining all the funny meetings.

i dreamt of tracy last night, my best friend in primary school.
wonder how she is now, 7 to 8 years already.

ytd was jasmine's bday. yes yes haha im a bad seniour, i din sms her.

toys & comic convention 2008

saturday & sunday was toys & comic convention & so of cos i was there! =D

this mural thing was drawn on the spot on friday preview night by the different artists.

at 9am, i met yw at bustop 581 there & waited for the bus which did not come after 40 mins. we had to change to take train, so i was quited pissed & worried.

anyway we rushed through citylink & after queuing for like 1+ hour plus & walking ard to collect stamps (as seen on the left),
we settled down infront of the redemption booth 2 hours before the redemption takes place at 2pm. yw & i were the first in the queue. can u believe it?

so supposedly we were to only choose 1 item from the pic on the left. it's actually a few robots boxes, gundam n smth else? with A BLANK TOFU! but we found out that we were given the whole set. so yar I GOT MY BLANK TOFU!!!! i came for the convention mainly for this k. =D

another redemption was at 5pm but we queued behind right away after the 2pm one. so YA u guessed it. we ended up queueing 5 hours for these 2 sets of toys. yes we're kiasu singaporeans but it's worth it. this set was a ice cream monster, robot keychain & a doll.

look at all the blank tofus in the box. haha i took this when i was waiting for one of them to come to mama penny =D

so while waitin for the redemption, *we sat down* so one of us walked around to take photos & look at the exhibits. this is tokidoki. damn nice but i'm not a huge fan of it, the creator was there that day too. but the queue is always so longgggggg.

this is the family of 2.5 inch mini tofus just released in june 2008! & mine, the blank one is also 2.5 one =D besides is molly in collaboration with tofu. *yummy*

though i don't have much money to buy their products. sob.

LOOK AT WHO IS THIS! shinichiro katai, one of the character designers for devil robots. WAHHHHH. yar he was just looking down drawing & the autograph signing had a long queue, but i'm very happy to just see him.. DRAW MORE FOR TOFU K!

anyway i met up with water half way with xiaopei to take photos with the cardboard stand things, there were others like Lao fu Zi & his friends , molly, stupid princess from mario, devilrobots & the yellow bunny happy tree friends.

yw & i met other people there by chance.. poly friends & sip colleague with his wife..
i wonder how many ppl did we not meet who was there as well?

yay of cos we took a photo with tofu! YAY! for this whole event. but BOO for all the queuing which resulted in my back injury returning. im really quite worried how my waist is going to last in UK. no mom to rub my back anymore for a year =(

i took 100+ pics in total & we only purchased a few postcards & stickers from the devilrobots booth. all the toys were so costly. i wish after i graduate & work for sometime, i can be one of exhibitors some day. i'll collect lots of toys in my big house & drive a toy-designed car.

when he and his noisy friends leave, i looked at them and they say i stare and they scold the f word with other nonsensical stuff added.

currently bluebear is still in my town.. today is her birthday thus this blog entry. lol it's so weird because when it was maple's birthday, bluebear visited her house. and now it's bluebear's turn, maple just left the town. awww.

and katie & kaitlin just came to water & my town too. it's probably 1/365 chance for them to come over. but within these 3 days, i've seen them for many times. anyway, kuku water & i spent 2 & 1/2 hours cheating & trying to get more presents from kaitlin. i'll try to take a photo soon, of those things we've gotten from them.

ok i know this entry is boring everyone. so on a side note, i'll be going out tml n tml n after tml.. i hope i get to slim down once i step out of the house. my room is just breeding a pig here everyday.

these 2 days i've been entertaining myself with tamagotchi corner shop 3. the ice cream shop is so addictive.. =/

haha ok erm i went "missing" with water today. HOHO. showtime was at 2:10 and i woke up by water's call at 1:10. thank goodness it was only at dte so i cabbed down.. HEEE. smuggled in french bk burger meal. awesomeee!

the movie is how shld i say.. 5/10? the plot n 'horror' doesnt seem strong at all.. haha we enjoyed it cos we were laughing.. since got so many weird things in there. XD

anyway, neoprint with her. i like this the most cos i just sat there & stone and she was doing some weird action?

went to her house for dinner! thankie water's jie jie! & then play her hamster & then play ds with her nephew. LOL shld have taken picture with him together, when we were both playing ac:ww.

yw & i 'tried' *lol* our dinner at shokudo, this japanese pasta & pizza @ cineleisure.
they're very bad at lining seats. we hear other people beside us talk & talk & talk, instead of us talking..

our pastas were ok.. the pizza is quite nice. we shared the teriyaki cheese one. nod. $32.75 total.

haha hello! I went for a haircut yesterday. Short fringe now, reminds me of my year 2 days. =)

anyway a few days ago, I was out with tine, mave & yw to visit jam @ her royal royal cafe in east coast road.
hee glad to see her after so longg.. but we were so bad to make her serve us..
oooh the cakes & the ice cream at the shop were yummmmy.. & not costly too!

after that the 4 of us took a cab home..
& the night walk was fun? it's just 20 mins from tine's house to mine!

last week, it was andrea's bdae, we got her a set of new clothes & put on makeup for her =D
